Durable Goods Orders
March 3, 2008
Durable Goods Orders track new orders for hard goods. Durable Goods usually last over 3 years. Companies investing in their long term are a good sign of controlled growth and may reduce inflation risk. This is the one of the most important ways of tracking manufacturing activity. Sometimes the number will be inflated with defense orders, so the non-Defense numbers may be the best indicator. Durable Goods are released at 8:30am [eastern] near the 26th of each month.
