New Home Sales

The New Home Sales report tracks the newly built homes with an accepted sales date during each month.  The survey is a compilation of data of $15,000 projects, permit offices, and land not requiring permits.  It is supported by data from the NAR [National Association of Realtors].  The level of new homes being purchased correlates directly with housing trends and an increase in purchases of appliances.  Seasonal influences also need to be considered.   New Home Sales are disclosed at 9:00am [central] at months end.  They have a MODEST impact on mortgage rates.
