I am a Senior Loan Officer with Cornerstone Mortgage, Inc. My office is on Olive Blvd not far off 270 in Creve Coeur. I have been originating mortgage loans since January 01, 2000. I have personally originated over $50,000,000 in closed mortgage loans. In 2006 I received the accreditation of Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, and have continued to be an avid student of finance ever since. I believe it is important to not only provide the best interest rates, loan programs, and closing cost the market has to offer, but to understand why the market moves, how this affects my clients, and how every transaction fits into their overall financial plan.
Through my studies I have learned that one of the most important basic concepts a mortgage professional needs to understand is that long term fixed mortgage rates correlate directly with Mortgage Backed Securities. Movement in the Federal Funds Rate, 10 Year Treasury Note, or the Stock Market does not directly correlate with the Mortgage Rates investors offer. I constantly track movement in the FNMA securities market and the impact the release of economic reports has on it in order to advice my clients on the appropriate time to lock or float a mortgage.
